The first review . . .

It feels like a day to remember: when the first independent review for any of the Biome NE47 series went up on Amazon.

Naturally, I hope there will be more to come, but it’s such a simple thing, a small fillip of joy for a writer to experience. Somebody has read the ‘words wot I wrote’ and liked the experience. Even better, it’s in the American market, so I might hope more readers will be inveigled there to dip into the series. I’ve not been at all sure whether our local biome would translate for readers across the pond.

Of course, being out there, one has to be aware that negative comments could also be forthcoming; readers might well be disappointed with their experience. Obviously, I hope not, but nobody ever writes to be pilloried, I imagine.

Anyway, it’s remarkable how just a few kind words of encouragement can elicit a mood change. Writing is a lonely task at the best of times, and many days, week, months are spent in near-despair — will this challenge really be met?

So I’m grateful for the four stars, the nicely chosen words, and the hope they bring. Thank you anonymous reader, thanks!
