In the beginning …

Stories often begin at the beginning, but the story of Biome NE47 actually starts, in the author’s mind, some thirty years from the beginning.

But who is to say when the ‘real’ beginning actually was? Hard as it is to fathom a beginning of an historical event, it’s even harder to put your finger on the beginning of an event that’s yet to happen.

But that’s the fun of it, isn’t it? Looking at what’s happening in the real world of the present, and conjecturing what life might be like fifty, a hundred, and more years ahead. And why.

Regardless of the circumstances our great-grandchildren may find themselves in, we can be confident that love, life, peril, loss, and resilience will be part of their existence.

And that, to put it succinctly, is the point of Biome NE47.
