Chapter 2, sorted

As time marches on, so the words mount up, as long as I’m conscientious.

I think I’ve finished the second chapter of Prequel, which means, in my working formula, that I’ve consolidated Act I, and now the fictional community of Biome NE47 must get to work to sort things out during Act II.

Soon, perhaps this coming weekend, I shall serve the text of Chapter 2 in the Portfolio pages. But tomorrow I shall probably try to lay out the first scene of Act II, Chapter 3, trying to rationalise the characters and keep the story going.

My basic target is 1000 words a day, or 5000 a week. In retirement, the work load is rather flexible, and that’s even more true under Covid lockdown conditions. But it’s intriguing to me, to see and experience the ideas gradually emerge, somehow spontaneously, as the narrative develops. I’m not quite sure who or what is leading this process: the characters, or my imagination racing forward.

Whoever or whatever drives this Prequel, it’s an exciting ride, that’s for sure, and I can’t wait to see how folks actually might work together to deal with the new challenges that have emerged during Chapter 2.
