After looking at this option for a couple of weeks, I thought it might be another useful merchandising gambit after all. Some folks don’t like eBooks, and why should they be denied the pleasures of Biome NE47?
Besides, with my new Quark software, it looked like lots of fun to create a new proper cover. I like the challenge of spreading the image(s) across the spine. And with Scrivener software, it’s a doddle to compile for paperback as well as eBook output, so that was good.
After a couple of hours of finessing things with the Amazon preview facilitator, I’m satisfied that Prequel in paperback is ready to launch. But first I’ll wait to see if local readers spot some typos, editing snafus, or anything else that will require editing attention, so that I can fix both eBook and paperback offerings at the same time, prior to the actual publication date of 1st June.
So Prequel paperback is now safely saved in Amazon’s archive, ready to publish as soon as I’m happy that any editing discrepancies are resolved.
I can hardly wait! Next step must, inevitably, be the audiobook. For which I tell myself I’ve held off until the final, definitive version of the manuscript is sorted. But really, even though I know I can do it, the audio thing feels incredibly daunting!
